Kazakh-American University and National Payment Corporation Sign Memorandum of Cooperation in "Financial Technologies
Kazakh-American University (KAU) and the National Payment Corporation (NPC) have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at advancing the "Financial Technologies" program. This partnership opens unique opportunities for students: participation in educational events with NPC experts, internships, interactions with global fintech industry leaders, and involvement of NPC experts as lecturers in the program.
The "Financial Technologies" program was launched for the first time in September 2024, with the first cohort of students already acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to become top specialists in the fintech world. Developed with the support of the National Payment Corporation, the program demonstrates its relevance and practical focus.
During the panel session at the Central Asian Venture Forum held recently, KAU Managing Partner Alina Abdrakhmanova delivered a presentation on the university's educational initiatives and Yassa projects. Special emphasis was placed on the bachelor’s program in financial technologies, the first of its kind in Kazakhstan. It was also highlighted that KAU became the first university to officially register this program, with students successfully engaged in their first year of study.
Furthermore, KAU is actively expanding international cooperation in fintech. Talks are underway with Visa to offer students the opportunity to learn from leading industry professionals. This collaboration will not only help students gain essential skills but will also provide KAU's partners with access to talented interns and graduates whom they can recruit into their companies. The university believes that this model of cooperation will form a foundation for the further development of financial technologies in the region and prepare students for success in the global economy.
