KAU Strengthens International Collaboration with China: Delegation from Qingdao Visits the University
On October 14, 2024, the Kazakh-American University (KAU) hosted a delegation from Qingdao, China. The delegation included representatives from the SCO Technology Transfer Center and leading companies specializing in infrastructure and digital development.
The SCO Technology Transfer Center, established in Qingdao in December 2020 on the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, serves as China’s official national platform. Its activities focus on strengthening cooperation in scientific, technological, economic, and educational fields between Belt and Road Initiative countries and SCO member states. The center enjoys robust support from the Chinese government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other agencies and has an extensive network of partners in Kazakhstan and other countries in the region.
During the visit, representatives from Qingdao Municipal Space Development Group Co. and Hainayun IOT Technology Co., Ltd. expressed interest in collaborating with the International Educational Corporation, of which the Kazakh-American University is a part. Qingdao Municipal Space Development Group Co. invests in and constructs municipal infrastructure, including smart city and environmental restoration projects. Hainayun IOT Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on developing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for digital cities and infrastructure systems.
KAU organized a campus tour for the delegation, showcased its educational programs, and discussed potential areas for collaboration. Agreements were reached on internships, exchange programs, and the possibility of dual degree programs for students in partnership with Chinese universities.
